Insurance

I do not accept insurance, and instead am considered an “out of network” provider. Many people are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement through their insurance company.

I get it- therapy is an investment of your time, energy, and money, which is why I have partnered with a company to help you utilize these benefits and save money if you qualify.

Feel free to use my benefits checker to learn more about your possible rembursement here.

What To Expect

  • Start with a phone call

I offer a complimentary 20 minute consult to answer any questions you may have and determine if we would be a good fit.

  • Schedule an intake

Once we connect, we'll schedule an initial intake appointment so I can learn a bit more about you and your mental health and wellness goals.

  • Determine a schedule or receive your recommendations

During our intake, we will map out a scheduling and treatment plan that best fits your needs and lifestyle moving forward

Frequently Asked Questions

  • At this time, visits are being offered virtually through a secure video platform. Services are available to those residing in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

  • Teletherapy allows us to meet virtually through a HIPAA-secure platform. It allows for flexible scheduling (like meeting during your lunch break) as well as the ability to access a good-fit provider without being in the same area. However, you must be in Maryland or Pennsylvania at the time of our sessions, and I recommend ensuring good internet connection!

  • This is a great question, and there are a few reasons. Not contracting with insurance companies allows for more flexibility in services being provided, as well as a reduced need to diagnose when unnecessary. Insurance companies requiring a diagnosis indicates an “assumption of illness,” which does not align with my practice values. Wanting to better oneself does not = illness. Being an out-of-network provider also allows me to create an individualized treatment plan, as opposed to an insurance-based one which may not fit you or your needs.

Many insurance companies offer out-of-network benefits, and you may be able to be reimbursed for a portion of your session cost. I partner with a company called Mentaya to help you utilize these services and potentially save money. Learn more here.

  • I’m a pretty active therapist, so if you are looking for someone to simply listen and provide a lot of silence and “mm-hmms”, I’m probably not a good fit. Just like doctors use medication as a tool for change, our biggest tool as therapists is the relationship. For this reason, goodness of fit and feeling comfortable is crucial. I strongly encourage you to prioritize this when searching for a therapist by utilizing consultation calls (whether with me, or anyone!)

  • Absolutely not. I incorporate nutritional therapy into my practice in an effort to treat mental health as a "whole body" issue. That being said, we can discuss where you're at in your nutritional journey, and re-assess as needed. Your treatment and recommendations are tailored to you and your goals.

  • Nope. The way I use nutritional therapy is to fill in the gaps often missed in mental health treatment. Truth is, what we eat affects how we feel. But this is not about eating “healthy”, and instead, noticing the impact certain foods might have on your mood. We will be exploring your relationship to food and emphasizing food as fuel for parts of our body and mind to work well. Recommendations will look different for everyone, but you will NEVER hear me say any foods are “good” or “bad”. If you are confused or skeptical, I’d love to talk more during a consultation call! Learn more about HAES® principles here.

  • This is tough to say. After your initial intake, we will come up with a treatment plan that will allow us to get a better sense of your needs and what sessions will look like
